Gaels split on the road

EAGLE?GROVE?- The St. Edmond wrestling team had a split decision in Eagle Grove on Thursday night.

The Gaels defeated Eagle Grove 51-15 and dropped a 52-15 decision to Clarion-Goldfield.

“We came out sluggish,” said St. Edmond head coach Tanner Utley. “We have a handful of guys wrestling with a purpose.

“We have to come out and expect to wrestle for six minutes.”

Against the Eagles, Payton Sitzmann?(126) and Hank Crimmins (170) earned falls.

Ryan Szalat picked up a decision at 113.

Kaden McClintock (120), Connor Allison (132), Jimmy Averill (182), Nick Hindt (195), Vinnie Harvey (285) and Cole Allison (103) all earned forfeits.

In the dual against Clarion-Goldfield McClintock (120) earned a fall. Crimmins (170), Averill (182) and Harvey (220) picked up decisions.

The Gaels are back in action on Saturday when they host the St. Edmond Duals.
