CALLENDER – Ellinor E Loehr, 97, passed away Saturday December 21, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge.

Services will be 11:00 A.M Tuesday, December 24th at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Callender with Pastor Jon Rollefson and Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Callender Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M Tuesday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie will be in charge of arrangements.

Ellinor is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Duane) Hartzler of Ogden; Linda (Galen) Moltz of Salida, Colorado; and Jo Berkland of Fort Dodge; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson. Preceding her in death were her husband, Howard A Loehr;her parents, Henry and Hildure (Johnson) Knutson; her son, Wayne; her daughter, Jackie; her son-in-law, Kevin Flygstad; her sister, Edith Vinchattle; and her brothers, Hollis and Keith Knutson.

Ellinor was born on March 10, 1916 daughter of Henry and Hildure (Johnson) Knutson in Callender. She graduated from Callender High School in 1933. Ellinor was united in marriage to Howard Loehr on July 3, 1936 in Omaha, NE. The couple established their home south of Moorland and farmed in that area all their married life. After her family was raised she was employed at the Messenger, Joselyn Press and The Community Orchard. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. They were avid Iowa State University basketball fans and supporting the Cyclones for many years. Ellinor was still living on the farm at the time of her death.
