POMEROY – Eldora L. Larson, 92, died Sun. Dec. 8, 2013, at the Pomeroy Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Thurs. Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pomeroy. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services on Thurs. at the church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Pomeroy. Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson is in charge of arrangements.

Eldora Lorraine Tjebben was born on June 2, 1921, at Pomeroy, IA, the daughter of Lammert and Jennie (Lichte) Tjebben. She attended school in Pomeroy, graduating from Pocahontas High School. She was united in marriage with Harold Larson on June 14, 1942, at Pomeroy. Together they farmed in the Manson and Palmer area for over 50 years. Eldora also worked at the Manson Good Samaritan Center for eight years, and at the Community Orchard in Ft. Dodge. She enjoyed continuing the pencil collection started by her father, having amassed over 5000 pencils over the years.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Harold; her son Bill Larson of Palmer, IA; daughter Barbara (James) Drury of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers her family requests memorials left to their discretion.
