Triton women post another victory
Iowa Central women win again, 82-74
The Iowa Central women picked up an impressive victory over Div. I Lake Region on Saturday night.
The 17th-ranked Tritons (9-1 overall) earned a hardfought 82-74 victory inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
“This was an unbelievable game,” said Iowa Central head coach Craig Carlson. “They’re a very solid team and their only loss was a two point game to St. Thomas the other night.”
Miliakere Koyamainavure turned in a strong double-double with 20 points and 19 rebounds.
“Koyamainavure was unbelievable,” Carlson said. “She had a huge game for us.
St. Edmond graduate Lydia Harvey had 21 points, including four three pointers. Babaye Ojay had 15 and St. Edmond graduate Theresa Doyle added 12.
“This is the type of competition we needed going into Tuesday (at Kirkwood),” Carlson said. “I’m thrilled the way we played.
“It was a good team win.”
