Donald P. (Don) Dornath, 75, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Cremation rites will then be accorded at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.

Don is survived by his wife Mary; his daughters, Tammy Johnson and Shelly Isebrand, both of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, Jackie (Ron) Kraft, Nicole Dornath, Damien Dornath, Matthew (Judy) Johnson and Lindsey Johnson; 13 great-grandchildren; Mahoghany, Daylon, Gabby, Haylee, Izaka, Blaine, Kaden, Marcus, Gracie, Ronnie, Olivia, Mason and Emma; his siblings, Larry Dornath, Fort Dodge; Janice Kain, Spencer; Ron (Donna) Dornath, Lehigh; and his beloved pets Lilly and Milo. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Delores Johnson and his brothers, Vernon, James, Robert, Charles and Dennis.

Donald Paul Dornath, the son of Lorenz and Emma (Bottin) Dornath, was born August 19, 1938, in Palmer and he attended Fort Dodge schools. On January 24, 1959, Don was united in marriage to Mary Woodman in Fort Dodge. Don was employed for 23 years with Iowa Beef and then was employed as a groundskeeper at Memorial Park Cemetery and Trinity Regional Hospital.

Donald enjoyed moments shared with his family and friends. He especially cherished time spent with his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
