OTHO – Mary Lou (Phillips) Ewing, 76, of Otho passed away on Saturday November 16, 2013. The memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday November 20, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Mary Lou was born in Kalo, IA on December 8, 1936 to Elmer and Grace (Foster) Phillips. She grew up and graduated from Otho High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Ewing on February 28, 1959. She was a member of the Otho Methodist Church. She worked for Friendship Haven for many years and also helped run Rob’s Conoco Station in Otho for 13 years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, cooking, watching cooking shows, camping, going to the fair and extended vacations.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband Robert Ewing; children Bruce (Jean) Ewing, Pam (Dave) Nemechek, Ken (Patricia) Ewing and Tricia (Brian) Stanberg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her siblings Don (Mary Ellen) Phillips, Clifford (Nancy) Phillips and Roberta (Ralph) Negron. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Grace Phillips and her brothers Warren, Russell and Earl Phillips.

Memorials may be left to the family for their further discretion.
