Christian Farmers seeks to organize at Callender meeting

CALLENDER – An informational meeting regarding the formation of a regional chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International organization will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 504 James St., Callender.

Guest speaker will be the executive director of the FCFI, Dennis Schlagel, from Lexington, Ill., who will give insight as to the mission of the organization and current relief efforts for farmers in Colorado due to floods and fire, as well as evangelism efforts in the future. Since its inception in 1985, FCFI has been active in promoting the Gospel through activities at the Farm Progress Show and area fairs, along with other state and national relief efforts such as erecting church buildings and chapels, well drilling, installation of irrigation systems, and the distribution of seeds and gospel tracts.

Anyone interested in agriculture or evangelism is welcome to attend.
