Help kids stay warm

To the editor:

Iowa’s cold winters make warm clothes essential, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have a hat or gloves, or even a winter coat.

Community Health Center of Fort Dodge in conjunction with Shimkat Motors is encouraging people in the community to help provide new or gently used warm winter coats, hats, mittens, boots and snow pants to keep the children in our community warm this winter.

Coats and/or winter clothing of all shapes and sizes are welcome. CHCFD and Shimkat Motors are dedicated to distributing reusable coats directly to local families in need. Coats for kids coat drive is an easy way for you and your family to pass along coats and winter clothing that are no longer needed.

CHCFD and Shimkat Motors have made donating a coat or winter clothing item simple. One can drop off your clean, gently used coats and/or winter clothing at CHCFD or Shimkat Motors in Fort Dodge before Dec. 7. We will take care of the rest. All donated coats will be distributed to anyone in need at Community Health Center of Fort Dodge on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon.

CHCFD can only achieve its goals with the assistance of generous donations from members of our community. Without these donations, serving those in our area would not be possible. Here is your opportunity to make sure that nobody goes without such a basic necessity as a coat this winter.

Thank you for your support.
