Fort Dodge man accused of assault

A Fort Dodge man is facing a felony assault charge after allegedly hitting a woman with a hammer.

Darryl Kinchelow, 52, has been charged with domestic assault with a weapon, third offense.

The criminal complaint said that Kinchelow had an argument with the woman, and during the altercation he allegedly hit her with a hammer in the hand. The hammer caused the woman’s hand to be hurt.

Kinchelow has two previous assault convictions from Polk County.

He is being held in the Webster County Jail on $5,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 22.

Woman accused of fleeing police car

A Lehigh woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly tried to run away from a police car after officers had placed her under arrest.

Kylene S. Rabourne, 35, of Lehigh, was arrested Monday night.

According to the criminal complaint, filed with the Webster County attorney’s office, Rabourne was placed under arrest when she got away from the car. When officers tried to get Rabourne back into custody, the complaint said she “resist(ed) a uniformed police officer and inflicted bodily injury.”

In addition to trying to get away from officers, Rabourne was allegedly transporting a .22 caliber rifle in her car and had a number of items with her that are consistent with a burglary.

She is facing charges of interference with official acts causing bodily injury, escape, carrying weapons, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license and no insurance.

Rabourne was ordered held on $10,000 bond during her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court.
