CEDAR RAPIDS – The seventh-ranked (NJCAA Div. II) Iowa Central women’s basketball team jumped back into the win column with a 69-52 victory over Joliet at the Kirkwood Classic on Saturday.
Babaye Oja paced the balanced attack for the Tritons (3-1 overall) with 18 points.
Miliakere Koyamainavure (17), St. Edmond graduate Lydia Harvey (14) and Katie Dentlinger (13) were the other top offensive performers for Iowa Central, which led by only three points at the half.
Dentlinger also pulled down 12 rebounds, while Harvey grabbed nine boards. Oja collected three steals, and Nyakat Diew added three blocks.
“We’ve just been in a shooting slump, but it was good to bounce back and get a win,” said ICCC head coach Craig Carlson.

Next action for the Tritons is Thursday when they host AIB JV for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
