FD man faces assault charges
A Fort Dodge man is facing multiple charges in connection with an assault in which he allegedly threatened to kill someone.
Arnie O. Shivers, 40, has been charged with two felonies and an aggravated misdemeanor in connection with the alleged assault, which happened Thursday at 3114 Seventh Ave. S.
It’s alleged that Shivers hit a woman in the face, which caused her lip to bleed and swell up. He is accused of intentionally knocking a woman to her knees and threatening to kill her with a knife he was holding. The criminal complaint alleges the victim was “in fear for her safety” and that Shivers “displayed the weapon in a threatening manner.”
There were two minor children in the house during the assault, according to the complaint.
Shivers was charged with domestic assault while displaying a weapon third or subsequent offense, domestic abuse causing injury third or subsequent offense and child endangerment.
He is being held in the Webster County Jail on $12,000 bond.
Shivers’ preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 15.
FD man charged with assault
A felony assault charge has been filed against a Fort Dodge man after he allegedly cut a woman’s hand.
Johnnie L. Stallings, 58, is charged with one count of domestic assault causing injury third offense.
It’s alleged that, on Wednesday, Stallings cut a woman’s left hand with a knife. The knife caused a small cut that needed medical attention, according to the criminal complaint filed against Stallings.
He made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Friday, where Magistrate William Habhab ordered Stallings held on $5,000 bond.
Stallings’ preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 15.
