ST. PAUL Minn. – Richard (Dick) Ernest Schuman, 87 passed away on October 30, 2013 in St. Paul MN.

He was born June 14, 1926, in Dallas TX to Richard E. Schuman and Kathryn Zehms and graduated from Manson High School in 1944, serving in the U.S. Navy & Reserves from 1944 to1954 and graduated from Iowa State University in 1949.

Dick married Theodora Jean Matt on Dec 17, 1949 and had 63 years together. They spent most of their married lives in Decatur, IL.

He worked for A.E. Staleys (Tate & Lyle) for over 30 years as an engineer. In retirement he was an engineering consultant and a pilot for Decatur Aviation.

Dick was very involved in the Lutheran Church and Habitat for Humanity and was an avid flyer.

Dick is survived by his wife Jean Schuman, five children Cheryl (Ross) Hilman, Diane (Steve) Meyer, Randy (Angela) Schuman, Beth Schuman, William Schuman, many grandchildren, brother-in-law Bill Moline and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Kathryn Schuman, sister Dorothy Moline, and brother Marvin Schuman.
