Paul E. Walters, 86, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Bickford Cottage.

A service honoring Paul’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856 and the Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation is 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years Norma; his children, Bill (Connie) Walters, Steve Walters, Tom (Kathy) Walters, and Kris (Curt) Wiles; grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Walters, Nick (Becky) Walters, Chip (Sara) Walters, Greg (Carolyn Marcalus) Wiles, Kara Brunner, Jenni Wiles, Tracy (Dani) Roberts, Tami Chrisp, Lissa (Alex) Peralta and Jessica (Justin) Platts; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandsons, Todd Walters, and the infant son of Tom and Kathy Walters.

Paul E. Walters, the son of Robert J. and Gladys M. (Grimm) Walters, was born July 2, 1927, in Fort Dodge. Paul was united in marriage to Norma Schroeder. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Paul worked at National Gypsum and was a Federal Meat Inspector prior to his retirement.
