Shares some thoughts

To the editor:

Regarding the crosstown connector: Is this something that the city of Fort Dodge needs at this time?

When the DOT says they are running in the red $215 million this year then they are suggesting taxing diesel fuel that is used by farmers. We have this new Highway 20 close to us and we observe that most of the traffic is semi trucks. That is where the tax should be, not on farmers.

When it comes to street repair, handle it like the supervisors do when they need funding to maintain our drainage districts, they just send us the tax bill.

Just an outsider’s thoughts.
