UDMO to end food pantry
To the editor:
Upper Des Moines Opportunity Inc. would like to announce that after much careful thought and consideration effective Nov. 1 the Webster County UDMO Outreach office will no longer operate its small food pantry. The decision was based on several reasons, but the main reason was that there are currently four other food pantries in Webster County that are fulfilling the need in the community. The food pantries include the following: Lord’s Cupboard, Corpus Christi, Salvation Army and Proteus. UDMO feels that due to the number of food pantries in the area, we no longer feel it is in UDMO’s best financial interest to provide this service in Webster County.
