Lavonne L. Leiss, 82, of Fort Dodge passed away on Sunday October 13, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 18, 2013 at Epworth United Methodist Church. A private burial of her cremated remains will be held prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Lavonne was born in Longville, MN on March 20, 1931 to William and Iola (Rose) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Longville. She married Norris “Toddy” Leiss on March 28, 1949 in Longville. The couple then made their home in Fort Dodge and farmed in the area for many years. She worked as a floral designer for local florists and then worked as a clerk at Walgreens for 20 years. She was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her cat Cally.

Lavonne is survived by her daughters Linda (Louie) Bock and Christine Sells both of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Bradley, Tracey and William Edgerton, Jamie Freeman, Danyell Freeman and Richie Sells; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; her brother Jack (Alice) Johnson and sister Karen Hauskens both of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband Norris; her parents William and Iola; her sister Carol Kline and brothers William Johnson and Elvin Johnson.

Memorials may be left to the family for their further discretion.
