Katie Clay Benefit succeeds

To the editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all who helped make the Katie Clay Fun Run and Benefit a great success on Sept. 28.

First, thank you to everyone that volunteered their time and talents to help plan and organize the event. Each of you contributed something special to help make the day a success. Thank you to Steve (Fuller) and the staff at Lefti’s for opening early and serving breakfast during registration and Mark (Campbell) and the staff at Amigo’s for providing a meal and hosting the auction in the evening. We are also grateful to the other stops on the run including Knuckleheads in Badger, The Prowler in Humboldt, Flipside in Lu Verne, Nuts Landing in Rutland, and The Knotty Pine in Humboldt.

Many thanks to all who contributed items for the auctions and raffles. The response from individuals and businesses alike in Fort Dodge, Humboldt, Algona and the surrounding area was astounding. There were silent auction items too numerous to count and enough items to carry on a live auction for more than two hours. Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you to all that came out to support the Clay and Shelly families. The generosity of those that participated in the auction, purchased tickets for one of the many raffles, or just came out to support the family was equally impressive and quite overwhelming. Your presence and support will not be forgotten.

Finally, we would like to thank Katie’s family for allowing us the opportunity to bring so many of Katie’s friends and family together to show our support. Thank you.
