Leland D. Anderson, 90, of Fort Dodge, died October 3, 2013, at Bickford Cottage.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at Corpus Christi Church with the Rev. Dan Rupp officiating. Interment will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856. The visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. There will be a Vigil for the Deceased at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Leland is survived by his children, Dennis (Karen) Anderson, Rockwell City; Edward (Sherry) Anderson, Webster City; JoLynn (Phillip) Stephenson, Fort Dodge; Annette (Kevin) Pevestorf, Chaska, Minnesota; sisters, Darlene Brown, Fort Dodge; Joan Pugh, Austin, Texas; brother-in-law Tom (Norma) Schmoker, Fort Dodge; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Florene and Marie, and an infant brother Lynn.

Leland Anderson, the son of Earl and Amanda (Immerfall) Anderson, was born June 3, 1923, at Burnside. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High. On October 27, 1942, Leland was united in marriage to Florene Schmoker. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army, from 1943 to 1946. He returned to Fort Dodge and worked for U.S. Gypsum Co, where he later was transferred and awarded a promotion to be works manager at the plant in Grants, New Mexico from 1954 to 1967. Leland returned to Fort Dodge in 1967 where he has since lived. He was employed with United States Gypsum and retired from Larson-Swanstrom Co. in 1985. Lee enjoyed spending his free time traveling, and playing golf.

Leland was a member of Holy Trinity Parish.
