Cougars roll by Sioux Central
MANSON – The Manson Northwest Webster football team picked up a victory over Sioux Central on Friday night.
The Cougars (5-1 overall, 2-1 district) earned a 46-12 victory after a 7-6 score at halftime.
Braden Moser had two touchdown catches of 14 and 62 yards, both passes from Alex Bush. Moser also ran for a 13-yard touchdown.
Cory Snell had two touchdowns (2 and 3) and a 40-yard interception for a score.
Lucas Dolder had an 80-yard kickoff return for a score.
South Central Calhoun rallies past Forest City
LAKE CITY – The South Central Calhoun football team rallied with 13 unanswered points, claiming a 13-12 victory over Forest City.
Jake Petzenhauser found Cyle King for a seven-yard TD pass with just over four minutes to go for the winning score.
Petzenhauser was 10 of 16 for 91 yards through the air, while adding 74 yards on the ground.
Jeff King had 46 yards rushing and the other score for the Titans (3-3 overall, 3-0 in district).
WEST BEND – It only took fifth-ranked West Bend-Mallard one half of football to knock off Corwith-CWL on Friday night.
The Wolverines (7-0 overall, 4-0 in districts) picked up a 38-0 victory.
Davey Jergens had 90 yards on six carries with two touchdowns.
Jesse Zinnel had five carries for 23 yards and a score on the ground.
Zinnel was 6-for-7 passing for 113 yards and two scores. Jason Zinnel had three catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 54-yard touchdown run.
Nathan Grimm and Jesse Zinnel had 10 tackles each.
BURNSIDE – The Bishop Garrigan football team racked up over 400 yards rushing in a 54-0 victory over Southeast Webster-Grand here Friday night.
Reece Wadle scored twice and ran for 75 yards, while Connor Langerman also had two touchdowns for the Golden Bears (4-2 overall, 3-1 in district).
Brayton Loss ran for 65 yards and a score, while David Klein added 49 yards and a TD.
Wadle was also 2 of 3 passing for 57 yards.
For the Eagles (1-5, 0-4), Tristan Ewing had 77 yards rushing, while Sam Burgland added 51.
Lynx, Lions postponed until 10 a.m. Saturday
CLEAR LAKE – A Top-10 battle in Class 3A will take place today after inclement weather hit the area in a game between Webster City and Clear Lake.
The eighth-ranked Lynx (5-0 overall, 3-0 in district) and No. 5 Lions (5-0, 2-0) will kickoff at 10 a.m. this morning.
Neither team took the field due to the constant lightning in the area.
