Services for Leona Brown Dettmann 95 of Fort Dodge will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Edward E. Durand officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sat. from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Leona Ruth Brown Dettmann was born December 7, 1917 in Renville, Minnesota to Fred and Albertina (Pankow) Reiter. She grew up in Renville and attended Renville Schools. She was united in marriage to Gordon Brown on January 27, 1939 in Grand Island, Nebraska. To this union four children were born; Carol Jean, Kenneth, Debbie and Kathie. The family lived in several places before finally settling in Fort Dodge in 1963. Leona enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and sewing. Gordon died October 23, 1990. Leona married Elmer Dettmann on August 24, 1994. The couple resided in Fort Dodge. Elmer died January 13, 2008. For the past seven years, Leona has been a resident at Marian Home. Leona died on September 29, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her children; Kenneth (Polly) Brown of Fort Dodge, Debbie (Jack) Zimmer of Pennsylvania and Kathie Brown of Kansas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gordon and Elmer, daughter Carol Jean, and eleven siblings.
