ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Margaret M. Williams, age 84, died Christmas night in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in Fort Dodge in 1928, Margaret was a drum majorette at Fort Dodge High class of ’46. While receiving multiple degrees, and training first as a nurse, then as a nurse anesthetist, Margaret was licensed in 5 states, and worked in Rochester, Minnesota; New Orleans, Louisiana; Fort Dodge, and Memphis Tennessee before moving to Albuquerque in 1962. For the next 25 years she worked as a nurse anesthetist until her retirement. Margaret realized her dream of becoming a mother in 1972 when she adopted her beloved daughter Irene, who was at her side when she died. Margaret is survived by her daughter Irene Williams, sister Arlene Williams, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Arch and Irene Williams, and her sister Mary Hatchitt. Cremation has taken place. A gravesite interment will be held Tuesday, September 24th at 11am at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
