Museum is still open

To the editor:

I want to correct a rumor that the Webster County Museum located in Otho is closing in September.

Our last scheduled day for this season is Nov. 2 and we will open again in April 2014.

The museum has been in Otho for 10 years and is still growing. Many have said we should be Webster County’s biggest tourist attraction.

Please visit Webster County’s history. If you can not come on Thursdays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., appointments can be made for you.

Every item in the museum has been donated as we do not buy or sell museum items.

We also have a gift and thrift shop and an ongoing garage sale that are both continuous fundraisers. We accept new and handcrafted items for the gift shop and other items for the thrift store and garage sale.

Volunteers are always welcome and very much needed. Many duties are available and it is fun to see the different items that come in. Bring your lunch and come on down. A refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot are available to prepare meals.

We invite groups and clubs to hold meetings and bring lunch and view our collections.

Wheelchairs and walkers are also available and there are no steps.

For more information give me a call at 972-4804 or 972-4544, or stop by the museum.
