Lauds leader dog program

To the editor:

Leaders of the World at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility has done a phenomenal job once again. Aug. 25 was the third annual Puppy Day Event for Leader Dogs & Reward Dogs. Our family enjoyed the skits, decorations and presentations of drills given by the inmates. This showed obedience, pride and one-on-one involvement with staff, peers and fabulous volunteers to train these dogs for the continuous need of Labs and shepherds to be sponsored. Leader dogs for the blind go all over the world. This program instills self-worth in these inmates as they got a warm standing ovation from coordinators (too many to list) and visitors.

I personally would like to thank PJ for enriching my dog’s life, Maxx. He loves you and loves being involved in this win-win program.
