Murder suspects set to plead Monday
Two people accused of killing a Fort Dodge man are scheduled to appear in court Monday for their arraignment.
Ronald J. Dilley, 29, and Holly N. Ekstrom, 22, are each set to make their pleas on a first-degree murder charge. The two are accused of murder in the death of Steven Fisher, 22, of Fort Dodge.
On July 10, Fisher’s decomposed remains were found in a ditch near Otho by a farmer. The remains were sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s crime lab for identification. Two days later, they were identified as Fisher’s.
That same day, after Fisher’s truck was seized, Dilley and Ekstrom were arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The couple is in the Webster County Jail on $500,000 bond each.
Fisher was last reported seen by friends and family during the later part of the first week of July. A 2009 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High, Fisher was employed at Liguria Foods in Humboldt at the time of his death.
He was also an aviation electronics technician with the Air National Guard and a former newspaper carrier for The Messenger.
