LAKE CITY – Florence Vincent, 96, died Tuesday, July 09, 2013 at the Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Beth Harbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Lampe Funeral Home.

Florence DeEtta Clark Vincent was born in Lake City, Iowa on April 17, 1917 to Clarence “Floyd” Clark and Mabel (Holm) Clark of Yetter. She attend the Yetter Wildcat Country School through eighth and graduated from Lake City High School in 1935. She received her Normal Training Teaching Certificate June 1, 1935. On October 30, 1935, Florence married Carl Leroy Vincent. They moved to the Lanesboro area and began a farming career.

Florence was active in the Lanesboro United Methodist Church and the Lake City Union Church. She taught Sunday school, was a member of the Joy Circle and became an elder.

Florence is survived by five of her six children: Gene E. (Loa Dawn) Vincent of Carroll, Iowa, Karen (James) Best of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mary Lou (Richard) Schreiber of Litchfield Park, Arizona, Patricia (Dale) Janssen of Goodyear, Arizona and Steven E. Vincent of Lake City, Iowa. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Beverly Vincent; sister, Virginia (Clark) Allen; brother, Melvin Clark; and one great-granddaughter, Rachel Best.
