OTHO – Shirley A. Roseke, 81, of Otho, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

A service honoring her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carroll Lang officiating. Interment will be in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Lytton at 3:30 p.m. The visitation is 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.

Shirley is survived by her husband Dale, Otho; her daughters, Donna (Kenny) Moberg, Fort Dodge; Carol (Daryl) VanGilder, Dayton; Susan (Mike) Forney, Milton, Penn.; six grandchildren, Heide Scharn, Martin (Gina) Anderson, Angie (Martin) Gutierrez, Jennifer (Paige) Clovin, Jessica (Holly) Shnyder and Jillian Shnyder; 12 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Ione Nielsen, Denny (Joyce) Schoneboom, Mike (Donna) Schoneboom and Patsy (Gary) Roth. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Fred.

Shirley Ann Schoneboom, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Wright) Schoneboom, was born December 4, 1931, in Crawford County, Iowa. She was reared and educated in Sac County and graduated from Lytton High School. On January 28, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to Dale Roseke at Emmanuel St. John’s Lutheran Church at Lytton. She received her nurse’s training at Iowa Central and was a Registered Nurse at Trinity Regional Medical Center, retiring after more than 20 years.

Shirley enjoyed spending time outdoors and riding motorcycles.
