Webster County supervisors approve funding application
The Webster County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution for safety improvement funding application during its meeting Tuesday.
The resolution was for the application of a grant to help fund a project placing rumble strips at stop signs throughout the county, Webster County Engineer Randy Will said.
Will said the rumble strips have been installed on new construction projects but that it would be beneficial to have rumble strip panels at stops across the county.
“There are up to 54 locations where we could install the panels,” Will said.
The project would cost around $44,000 without grant funding.
“It is in the best interest of all involved that we install them at all locations, we need to have some consistency out there,” said Will.
In other business, the board approved the recorder’s resolution naming depository of Webster County funds in conformance with applicable provisions of Iowa Code, received and placed on file a manure management update for Alliger Farms in Section 27 Gowrie Township and KR Farms in Section 2 Dayton Township.
The board also approved a utility permit for the installation of power poles at a new home at 2628 235th St and approved MidAmerican Energy to replace failed underground electric lines to substation at 1549 Samson Ave in Badger Township.
