WILLITS, Calif. – David Paul Gutz, age 64, died on October 13, 2012, in Willits, CA. David was born in Fort Dodge, IA on September 4, 1948. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1966 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1966 where he served for 4 years.

After his service in the U.S. Army, he was employed as Branch Manager of Household Finance in Walnut Creek, CA. He was a realtor in the State of California. His expertise was in commercial real estate. He also worked as a radio broadcaster, manager and DJ for KLLK in Willits, CA until it’s closure.

For the last five years of his life, he was Manager of the Plumbing Department at Mendo Mill in Willits, CA. He loved music, gardening, woodworking, fishing, restoring old cars and was a collector at heart. His love of God, family and friends was most important to him. His parents Paul and Lillian Gutz, preceded him in death. He is survived by three sisters: Joan Webster (Chuck) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Viola Henry of Lincoln Hills, CA; and Ginny Kubota (Brian) of Lawrence, KS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. A private memorial service was held in Willits, CA. His final resting place is St. Olaf Cemetery, Fort Dodge, IA.
