Gaels top WB-M

GILMORE CITY – The St. Edmond baseball team picked up their sixth straight victory Thursday night, doubling up West Bend-Mallard 14-7.

Tommy Setterdahl went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and a single, while Matthew Bocken had two hits and an RBI.

“Tommy had a big night,” SEHS head coach Joe Shanks said. “We’ve lost some close games late, so it was nice to get a rally together and earn a win.”

Aaron Chalstrom and David Flattery each had RBI doubles for St. Edmond (9-9 overall).

The Gaels have now scored 63 runs during their recent win streak.

“We’ve got the kids feeling much more confident at the plate,” Shanks said.

For the Wolverines, Jason Zinnel had a three-run homer.

St. Edmond returns to action tonight vs. Clarion-Goldfield (8-9, 3-5) at Rogers Park. The Gaels are 4-5 in the North Central Conference.
