STILLWATER, Minn. – Bill Weiss, formerly from Ft. Dodge and US Navy Veteran, passed away June 15, 2013 at the age of 90. He served in the US Navy from ’42-’46 during WWII as a sonarman and air pilot. They raised their family in Minneapolis, MN. In 1946 he started working as a Feed Finance Manager at Land O Lakes in Minneapolis. In 1971 he was transferred with Land O Lakes to Ft. Dodge, IA where he worked until 1982, retiring after 36 years with the company. He was active in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. In retirement he & his wife Ginny, former Webster County ARC director, enjoyed traveling overseas and throughout the US. In 2001 they moved to Stillwater, MN to Boutwells Landing Retirement Community to be closer to their family.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ginny; children Carl, Carol Carlson (Fred), and Marykay; grandchildren Angie, Kelly, Stacy (Kris), Melissa, Ashley and Justin; & great granddaughter Sophia. He is also survived by sisters Marjorie & Barbara, along with many other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl & Elsa and brother Donald.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Thursday June 20 at Boutwells Landing Chapel, 5600 Norwich Parkway, Oak Park Heights, MN. A private interment will be held at Ft Snelling National Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements made by Simonet Funeral Home in Stillwater, MN. Memorials preferred to Alzheimers Association.
