Appreciates an act of kindness
To the editor:
I am a kindergarten teacher in the district. My students were very excited last week to get to go outside on such a nice day and walk to get ice cream cones. I took a few minutes to figure out which kind of cone each child wanted. When I was finished, I laid the money on the counter and was talking with my students. The man that was helping make our ice cream cones came to the counter and told me to go ahead and put my money back into my bag because somebody had already paid for all of the children’s ice cream cones. I wasn’t able to thank the man in person who donated their money for my students to have ice cream but I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was very touching and still brings tears to my eyes when I think about it.
I feel like all 25 children in my classroom are like my own and after 178 days with them, having someone be so kind to them really meant a lot to me. It was a perfect lesson for my children to learn as we have been trying so hard as a district to teach our children about kindness. I want to say thank you but I also want you to know that this random act of kindness will be paid forward.
