School board to name middle school principal
The Fort Dodge Community School District school board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at 104 S. 17th St.
A public hearing will be held regarding a proposed grant of option to purchase certain school district real property to Foutch Brothers LLC, and on a proposed sale of certain school district real property to Holy Trinity Parish.
Following the public hearings, the board will take action on the option for the district property.
The board will also take action on water irrigation bids for the new middle school, cooperative sharing agreements for boys’ swimming and diving with Humboldt High School for the 2013-14 year, review 2012-13 district student achievement data, and approve cost proposals for math adoption.
Ed Birnbaum will also be recommended as the new Fort Dodge Middle School principal.
He has been serving as an assistant principal at Fort Dodge Senior High.
Joe Libby, who announced his resignation last month, served as the last principal of Fair Oaks and Butler middle schools, which are being replaced this fall by the new Fort Dodge Middle School.
