Gael baseball falls on the road

IOWA FALLS – The St. Edmond baseball team was unable to overcome a five-run deficit Monday night, falling 5-4 to Iowa Falls-Alden.

The Gaels (3-4 overall, 0-2 in NCC) have dropped four in a row.

St. Edmond plated four runs in the sixth off Cadet starter Cort Redmond, but Josh Hoover recorded two strikeouts in relief with the tying run on third.

“We hit the ball in spurts a little better,” SEHS head coach Joe Shanks said. “We had a chance to tie it, we just couldn’t get that next hit.”

Jason Setterdahl, Matthew Bocken and Ryan Szalat all had an RBI in the sixth.

St. Edmond returns to action tonight at Rogers Park against Bishop Garrigan. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
