LAKE CITY – Lyle Skinner, 78, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Craig Zandi officiating and burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery, Lake City with full military honors by the Lake City American Legion Post #31 and V.F.W. Post #1899. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City. Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City is handling the arrangements.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Lake City, his children Michael (Carol) Skinner of Lidderdale, Barbara (Michael) Grossman of Windsor Heights, Mark Skinner of Rock Island, Illinois, Matthew (Delfina) Skinner of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Kevin (Sara) Skinner of Westside, Russell (Marsha) Skinner of Huxley, Lara (Scott) Haakenson of Carroll, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother Larry (Lois) Skinner of Lake City, sisters Jeannette (Wendell) Volkens of Council Bluffs, Carlene (Ron) Allard of Kimberling City, Missouri, sisters-in-law Betty Stoelting of Carroll, Carol Nicholson of Ashland, Kansas, and Marlene (John) Hemmer of Mission, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, nephews Douglas Volkens and Jason Kowalke, and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Jean Stoelting.
