FDCS, St. Ed’s students will gather for Rachel’s Challenge assembly
Rachel’s Challenge will again take center stage as students from all Fort Dodge Community Schools and St. Edmond will gather from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Dodger Stadium.
During this assembly, students will be celebrating their efforts to spread kindness and compassion.
“Rachel’s Challenge has had a positive impact in our schools,” said Dr. Doug Zan Zyl, FDCSD superintendent. “I’m proud of the way our students have not only shown kindness and compassion to each other, but also to other members of our community. We hope this celebration will help the kids keep the good momentum going over the summer.”
The program will include videos by each building, music by the Fort Dodge Senior High and St. Edmond Middle School bands and cheers by both schools cheerleaders. Van Zyl will speak and a proclamation will be read by Mayor Matt Bemrich.
A visual representation of the kind acts students have performed since January will also be displayed.
Parents and the community are welcome to attend this celebration. Community members are asked to sit in the northern section of the east stands.
Parking at the stadium will be limited to the parking spaces on the west and east edges of the lot as the center parking lanes will be reserved for buses.
