BODE – LeRoy M. Worby, 90, of Bode, passed away May 23, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery, Bode with full military rites. Visitation for LeRoy will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Bode.

LeRoy Milton Worby was born July 17, 1922, in Ottosen, Iowa, to Corrine Telford and Milton Worby. He was raised by Dora and Roy Telford and educated at Ottosen. LeRoy graduated in 1941 from Ottosen High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II from January 1945 through November 1946. In February 1958 he married Beverly May Lee in Ottosen, and farmed near there for nine years. They then moved to Bode where he worked for the Bode Cooperative Elevator and the City of Bode until fully retiring in 1989. During this time they parented three daughters, Vickie, Tami, and Lori.

LeRoy was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode serving as a councilman, congregational president, Luther League Sponsor, and custodian in his retirement years. He was a proud member of the Bode American Legion having served as commander and adjutant for 16 years. He also served on a national American Legion Committee. LeRoy also enjoyed his involvement in the Bode Community Club.

He is survived by his daughters, Vickie (Bob) Miller of Swan and Tami (Kerry) Loge of Granger, as well as grandchildren, Amanda and Tommy (Alex) Miller, Adriana Gonzalez, and Teig and Tre Loge; sisters, Corrine Cannon and Mary Lou Bright; and brothers, Dean (Delores) Telford and Don Fry. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly, daughter, Lori; and several brothers.
