Dodger girls cruise in soccer

DES MOINES – Closing out its regular season in style, the Fort Dodge girls soccer team posted a 10-0 shutout over Des Moines North Tuesday night.

Hailee Richardson and Paige Savery each delivered three goals for the Dodgers (6-9 overall).

Francis Lee also tallied two scores, while Madeline Westerhoff and Stella Witt both found the back of the net once.

Westerhoff, Lee, Richardson, Emerald Holdredge, Savery and Cassie Stumpf all dished out assists.

FDSH registered 37 shots on goal.

“It was an exciting win,” said Dodger co-head coach Lindsay Boeckman. “This was two games in a row now where we beat teams 10-0 (Fort Dodge previously earned a 10-0 victory over Webster City). It was good to get players in a position they hadn’t been in.”

Fort Dodge will now host Sioux City North in a Class 3A, Region 2 semifinal next Wednesday. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
