Garrigan claims regional title
LIVERMORE – The Bishop Garrigan girls golf team shot a 359, earning another Class 1A regional title.
Alexa Capesius led the Golden Bears with an 81, while teammate Rebecca Richter finished second (88) and Haley Froehlich third (91).
Graettinger-Terril was a distant second at 418.
The Golden Bears will compete in a regional final next Monday at Kingsley.
Cassie Gerhardt from West Bend-Mallard shot a 96 to advance individually. She recorded a 45 on her second nine.
For Garrigan, Makayla Foertsch shot a 99 and Brittney Arndorfer a 101.
Other golfers for the Wolverines were Jennalyn Thul (100), Emily Bormann (121) and Heather Brown (132).
Newell-Fonda second behind Hess
MARCUS – Jade Hess shot a 93, securing medalist honors at a Class 1A regional opener here Monday.
Hess helped Newell-Fonda place second, advancing to a regional final next Monday in Kingsley.
Marcus-MMC was first with a 434, 11 strokes ahead of the Mustangs.
SE Webster-Grand moves to final
CONRAD – The Southeast Webster-Grand girls golf team moved to a Class 1A regional final with a second place showing here Monday.
The Eagles shot a 479 behind Kelsey Travis’ 94.
Grundy Center was first with a 362.
Next up for Southeast Webster-Grand will be a regional final in Clarksville next Monday.
Kennedy Gallentine added a 117, Sage Michalski a 132 and Abby Anderlik a 136.
Raiders finish second, advance
ORANGE CITY – The East Sac County girls golf team shot a 391, capturing runner-up Class 3A regional honors here Monday.
Makayla Ernst led the Raiders with a 95, while teammate Jamie Highland shot a 96.
Unity Christian finished first and will join East Sac County next Monday in a regional final in Lake City.
Livengood earns individual berth
HAMPTON – Mikaela Livengood shot a 96, advancing herself to the next round of postseason golf Monday.
The Clarion-Goldfield golfer shot a 96, securing an individual berth in next Monday’s Class 3A regional final in Lake City.
Carroll Kuemper won the team title, while Algona placed third. Clarion-Goldfield was fifth and South Central Calhoun seventh.
