Stop means stop

To the editor:

Stop signs are for everyone.

A couple of days ago I was heading into town from the Coleman District and just down our street is a stop sign that could just as well not be there for all the good it does. Out of five moped riders, only one rider stopped for it and the other four just zoomed right through it like it wasn’t even there. If a car would have been coming from the north, one or more of those riders would have been windshield art. Stop signs are meant to do just that, be it mopeds, motorcycles, cars, pickups or even bicycles. Stop does not mean stop only if you feel like it. And just because you stop at the stop sign behind another vehicle, that does not give you the right to just go on through it when you get to it.
