HARCOURT – Bob L. Gustafson, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Harcourt with Pastor Karen Young officiating. Burial will be in the Lost Grove Township Cemetery, Harcourt. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie.

Survivors include son, Roger (Rhonda) Gustafson of Lehigh; daughters-in-law, Shirley Gustafson of Harcourt and Char Gustafson of Des Moines; grandchildren, Julie (Justin) Roberts, Sadie (Mike) Halligan, Ryan Gustafson, Matt (Jessica) Gustafson, Joanna (Christian Castillo) Gustafson, Sean Utley, Tammy (Carolynn Lee) Utley, Blake (Lacey) Utley; five great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Vander Linden of Ankeny; brother-in-law, Bob Williams of Lytton. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde and Ruth (Ostberg) Gustafson; wife, Sara; sons, Roland Gustafson and Rich Gustafson; sister, Marilyn Williams; brother-in-law, Bob Vander Linden; twin brother, Rollin Gustafson.

Bob L. Gustafson was born February 21, 1922 at Harcourt and graduated from the Lanyon High School. Bob was united in marriage with Sara Jordison on June 11, 1944 at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed in the Palm Grove area for more than 50 years. Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church, Harcourt, 4-H leader, and received the Young Farmers of the Year Award. Bob enjoyed horses, driving his ponies, watching his great-granddaughters ride horses, and spending time with the JRG family.
