MANSON – Judy Johnson, 66, died at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home on Sun. May 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Fri. May 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior United Methodist Church in Manson with Rev. Deborah Parkison officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 7pm at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson.

Judy is survived by her husband Doug; daughter Tawnya (Mike) Fields of Polk City, IA; son Clint (Angela) Johnson of Swisher, IA; grandchildren Noah and Sabrina Fields; her parents Warren and Miriam Collier of Durant, IA; brothers Gordon (Anne) Collier of Muscatine, IA; Ken (Lynne) Collier of Clintonville, WI; Jim (Vicki) Collier of Durant, IA; sisters Linda (Dale) Hupp of Riverdale, IA; Kathy (Greg) Lyon of Clarence, IA.

Judy Anne Collier was born on March 16, 1947, at Davenport, IA, the daughter of Warren and Miriam (SyWassink) Collier. She graduated from Durant High School in 1965. In 1968, she married Doug Johnson at a rural church near Muscatine, IA. In 1969, she graduated from Morningside College, Sioux City. The couple moved to Ft. Dodge in 1969, where Judy taught at North Junior High for two years. In 1972, they moved to Manson, where Judy taught speech, language arts, and drama at Manson High School from 1971-1992 when she retired due to ill health. She was an active member of Our Savior United Methodist Church in Manson, teaching Sunday School classes, singing in the choir, and serving on several committees. Judy was also a Manson Public Library Board Member, and a member of P.E.O. and Chapter GK.
