TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – Doris M, Duncan, 95, of Treasure Island, Florida, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away April 19, 2013.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date and arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Born in Pocahontas County, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Ren and Celinda (Colburn) Crummer. The family moved from Pocahontas to Gowrie in 1927 and she graduated from high school in 1936. She married the late Melvin Machovec and they resided in Ft. Dodge. She was employed at Ft. Dodge Laboratories, Div. of A.H.P.C. (Ft. Dodge Animal Health Div. of Wyeth) in the payroll dept., and retired in March of 1978 after 27 years. She married the late Charles M. Duncan in Sept. 1989. Doris was a long standing member of the United Methodist Church, Iowa Mayflower Society as a descendant of Gov. William Bradford, a former member of A.B.W.A., Christian Business and Professional Women, and Izaak Walton League of America.

She is survived by two sisters, Ula Machovec and Donna L. Bales; one brother R. Dale Crummer; three nieces, Linda K. Eckhoff, Judith McKenney and Karen Crummer; three nephews Brian Bales, and Larry and Kim Crummer. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a brother, a sister, four nephews and one niece.
