MANSON – Brett D. Nissen, 36, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Manson. Visitation will be today from 4 until 8 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home.

Brett is survived by his parents David and Laurie Nissen of Manson, IA; sister Traci (Chad) Tracey and his niece Chloe all of Otho, IA. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Shirley Dirks, his grandfather Lee Uballe; and his aunt Cheryl Reed.

Brett David Nissen was born on May 25, 1976, at Lake City, IA, the son of David and Laurie (Uballe) Nissen. He attended Cooper School in Fort Dodge for three years before attending school in Manson, where he graduated in 1996. In 1999 he moved to New Hope Village in Carroll where he had been living. Brett enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics, he liked listening to country music – especially Garth Brooks, and he was a big fan of the ISU Cyclones.
