LOWDEN – Helen Mae Hoffmeier, age 92, passed away on Saturday April 20, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Reverend Victor Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Lowden. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

Helen was born on March 30, 1921 to George and Mayme (Grau) Kohnert in Scott County, Iowa. Helen married Gerhard Hoffmeier on June 8, 1947 in Grand Mound. He died on March 18, 2005.

Helen moved from Lowden to Manson, Iowa in 2002. She was a past member of the Lowden Amvets Auxiliary and the Trinity Ladies Aid. Helen enjoyed flowers, spending time with her family and played cards to the very end.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Letourneau of Mendota Heights, Mn. and Gloria (Doug) Casey of Manson, Iowa; grandchildren, Jennifer (T.J.) O’Brien; Lucas (Lindsay) Casey; Johanna (Andy) Altmayer; Zachary (Fiancee Charolette Heil) Letourneau and Anthony Letourneau; great granddaughters, Casey Mae O’Brien and Afton and Emery Casey; and a brother, Milton (Bud) Kohnert of Calamus.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Lloyd.
