Zion Lutheran awards grants

GOWRIE – The Zion Endowed Benevolence program of Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie, recently awarded grants to fifteen individuals and organizations committed to extending and enriching the kingdom of God. The grants awarded for 2013 totaled $20,000.

The 2013 grant recipients were: Angel Tree Program ($700), Ann Albert, Support of Seminary Education ($1,000), Church of the Damascus Road Chapel ($2,500), Church Secretaries’ Conference ($500), Clarion Cross-Culture Corp. ($500), First Presbyterian Mission Ministry ($500), Gateway to Discovery ($1,000), Hands in Motion ($1,000), Igumbilo Secondary Girls’ School ($1,000), Lutheran Lakeside Bible Camp ($1,500), Lifting Up Faces of Hunger ($500), Lutheran Services in Iowa ($1,000), Mosaic ($1,500), Operation Bootstrap ($1,500), Support for Jason Mtokoma ($1,500), Unite for Sight ($1,500), Upstream Ministries ($800), Zion Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund ($1,500).
