Preschool is accepting applications

Prince of Peace Lutheran Preschool is now taking applications for the 2013-14 school year. The school is located at 1023 S. 27th St.

Preschool classes for 4-year-olds are held each morning, 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is tuition-free and children must be 4 by Sept.15.

The 3-year-olds meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children need to be 3 by Sept. 15 and completely and independently potty-trained. Tuition assistance is provided through Linking Families and Communities for those meeting their requirements.

Prince of Peace is a Christ-centered preschool emphasizing a caring Christian environment. It is licensed by the Department of Human Services. The program promotes social development and kindergarten readiness. Prince of Peace Lutheran Preschool admits children of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at school.

The preschool director is Jessica Ferry. Ferry is trained in early childhood education and is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. Susan White is preschool aide.
