Dodgers open at Indianola
INDIANOLA – The Fort Dodge boys track team opened its outdoor season at the Indianola Invitational on Thursday night.
The Dodgers placed fourth. Waukee easily took home top honors.
Keegan Jones claimed a gold medal for FDSH in the 400 hurdles (58.09), while Connor Hubbard (discus, 141-9.5), Cray Washington (100, 11.33) and the shuttle hurdle relay (Adrean Johnson, Austin Anderson, Tyler Vaughn and Jones, 1:03.24) each settled for silver.
Washington (200, 4th, 23.26), Wesley Castro (long jump, 5th, 18-9), Riley Prescott (shot put, 5th, 47-4), Vaughn (110-hurdles, 6th, 17.65) and Keegan Myers (200, 6th, 23.63) turned in the other top performances for the Dodgers.
“It was nice to finally get outside and start running,” said Fort Dodge head coach John McBride. “Some of our times weren’t the best, but our kids were still competitive.”
On the junior varsity side, Dodger Lance Williamson earned a victory in the 400 hurdles (1:01.9).
FDSH hosts its 55th annual Dodger Relays on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
