WEBSTER CITY – Sue Welch-Guggisberg, 76, of Webster City, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services for Sue will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Dave Simonson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at Fosters.

Norma Sue Davis, daughter of Alonzo and Edna (Roberts) Davis, was born July 23, 1936 in Eldorado, IL. She came to Iowa in 1963. In 1965 she married Bernard “Barney” Welch. He preceded her in death in 1987. In 1988 she married Robert Guggisberg.

From 1968 to 1991 she worked at Electrolux. From 1991 to 2001 her husband Bob and her owned and operated East Side Grocery in town.

Sue is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Mike Stephenson of Illinios, Danny Stephenson of New Mexico, Missy (Rob) Creel of New Mexco; her step-sons; Leslie (Bev) Welch of Perry, Kenny (Cindy) Welch of Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Tom (Karina) Davis of Ohio and Hilda Romaine Davis-Bradly of Illinois.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Gene Welch, her sisters, Sally Beth Davis-Keller and Evelyn Davis-Zimmerman.

Sue was proud to have been a member and office holder, including past president of Union UAW 442. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose and she loved to cook and bake.
