FD case is sent to District Court

The case of a Fort Dodge man accused of attempted murder has been sent to Webster County District Court.

Larry D. Crawford, 43, allegedly assaulted his ex-wife, Jolene Crawford, at their Fort Dodge home, 339 Loomis Ave., on March 2.

His preliminary hearing, which had been scheduled for Thursday, was waived after the Webster County attorney’s office filed the trial information with the court.

Crawford’s arraignment was set for March 25.

On March 2, Jolene Crawford was found unconscious in her bedroom by Fort Dodge police after they received a call about an assault.

She was initially taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to a Des Moines area hospital in critical condition.

According to a police report, she suffered blunt force head trauma.

At the request of Crawford’s family, her condition is no longer being released by hospital officials, though as of Monday she was still listed in critical condition.

Larry Crawford is being held in the Webster County Jail on $1 million bond.
