Wellness series continues

The LESS is MORE wellness series for senior citizens continues at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven with the focus shifting to Intellectual Wellness. This free educational series is open to any older adult wishing to learn more about healthy aging.

Intellectual Wellness is only one of the six dimensions of health – the others being physical, emotional, intellectual, social and vocational. The LESS is MORE series is intended to explore each dimension in depth and to help seniors to understand what healthy aging encompasses.

Holly Van Heel and Malisa Rader from ISU Extension will explore the ways people can avoid the mental decline that is often thought of as normal aging with “Where Did I Put Those Keys?” This presentation will help explain how memory occurs, share factors that influence memory and provide activities that can be done every day to keep your brain active to improve memory.

All LESS is MORE programs are free of charge to any interested senior, and no reservations are required. The series is a cooperative endeavor between Elderbridge Agency on Aging, Friendship Haven, Health Partners at TRMC, ISU Extension Service and Foster Grandparent Program of Fort Dodge.
